ELEVATOR TO EVEREST
Long gone are the days of Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norway
Now our role models are Angelina Jolie and Anne Hathaway
In this world where movies are remembered over discoveries
This elevator is a step into our moral recovery
We students learn in history
How Newton solved mysteries
But there is something much better
Than learning about dates and political letters
There is this elevator equipped on Everest
I believe this invention can be rated “THE BEST”
The day the scientists got to know about it
They went for a research with hopes lit
It was discovered that this man had left few traces
Which included his illegible autograph and a pair of old braces
Though scientists were unhappy and historians had not much to post
We students believed it to be a better discussion than most
From being the toughest place to reach
Everest is now a tourist spot more like a beach
I pity those who wanted to make a record of climbing the summit
As now their hopes and expectations have fallen flat in a pit
At least now everyone can be on top of the mount
This anonymous inventor and his invention are the things
In the history of science that count.
